TORRANCE, CA., September 12, 2012 - Robert J. Margolis, MD, chairman and CEO of HealthCare Partners, LCC, the country's largest operator of medical groups and physician networks, today announced the signing of an agreement to acquire two independent practice associations (IPAs) - Arta Health Network and Arta western Medical Group - as well as affiliated management services organization (MSO) Western Medical Management. Arta serves Medicaid, Commercial, and Medicare patients in North,
Central, and South Orange County, providing care to more than 76,000
patients through a network of 800 primary care physicians and
specialists. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Arta further expands our geographic coverage in Orange County,
allowing us to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare for a growing
number of Californians,” said Dr. Margolis. “We are excited to join
forces with Arta and its talented physician community to deliver
patient-centered, coordinated care.”

Talbert Medical Group, acquired in May 2010, and a growing IPA network,
which together serve more than 61,000 patients. “Arta and its skilled
physician network have become a recognized and valued provider system in
the Orange County community” said Arta President Baruch Fogel, MD. “The

leader in the Orange County healthcare community, will continue to lead
Arta under HealthCare Partners. “I am excited and look forward to
working with HealthCare Partners in Orange County as we prepare for the
Dual Demonstration Pilot project and the expansion of the Medicaid
program,” she said.
