Torrance, CA  October 21, 2009
- This is the sixth straight year that HealthCare Partners was named by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) as one of the top performing California physician groups in the state. Every year, the IHA rates California physician groups in the key areas of clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and use of information technology in support of patient care.

HealthCare Partners was one of only five medical groups honored in the Los Angeles area. The other four were Pioneer Medical Group, UCLA Medical Group, Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, and Southern California Permanente Medical Groups.

"We are honored that HealthCare Partners remains recognized as a leading California physician group in showing the way to deliver quality healthcare," said Dr. Robert Margolis, CEO and Managing Partner of HealthCare Partners. "In the greater Los Angeles area over 500,000 patients, many of them seniors with more complex health issues, have entrusted HealthCare Partners' California physicians with their well-being. We are proud of our exemplary clinicians and staff who, with passion and dedication, embrace our quality care initiatives and heartily commit themselves to doing what's right and putting our patients first."

The award is part of the IHA's Pay for Performance program, the nation's largest physician incentive program, which rewards California medical groups for their performance in areas related to quality. In earning the award, HealthCare Partners was compared to 225 physician groups, representing 35,000 physicians who care for more than 10 million patients.

IHA (www.iha.org) is a not-for-profit, statewide collaborative leadership group of California health plans, physician groups, and health care systems plus academic, consumer, purchaser, pharmaceutical and technology representatives that promotes quality improvement, accountability, and affordability for the benefit of all California consumers through special projects, policy innovation, and education.
